The front facade of the Meason mansion with part of a smaller house, probably the kitchen, on the side.

The mansion was built in 1802 by Isaac Meason. It is located six miles east of Uniontown on the road to Connellsville. Isaac's brother, Captain Joseph Meason was a noted Indian fighter at Fort Henry, West Virginia and pioneer of the lower Ohio. The house and grounds are the original site of Christopher Gist's plantation, which was begun by Gist for the Ohio Company in 1753.
