B.K. Elliot Co. was founded by Byron Kenneth Elliot of Mt. Lebanon. The company specialized in the distribution of engineering and drafting supplies. Elliot was born in Hagerstown, Indiana in 1870, he arrived in Pittsburgh in 1890 and joined with Macke Print and Paper Co., a distributor of engineering supplies. He eventually purchased stock in the company and in 1900 reorganized it as B.K. Elliot Co. which later branched out into several cities. Elliot died on June 29, 1962, he was survived by his son Byron Kenneth Elliot Jr. and daughter Virginia A. Elliot
